Fibreglass Pool Removal Gold Coast

Fibreglass pool removal can look simple because the shell is one moulded unit, but access, groundwater, surrounding concrete and the condition of the excavation all matter. Some shells can be lifted in larger sections. Others need to be cut for removal through narrow access.

Project scope at a glance

  • Whole shell or sectional removal
  • Narrow access methods
  • Surrounding paving removal
  • Groundwater planning
  • Backfill and landscaping

Can the shell be lifted out

Open access and a sound lifting plan may allow the shell to be removed in large sections. A crane or excavator approach depends on weight, reach, overhead hazards and the condition of the shell.

Restricted access removal

Where machinery cannot reach the pool directly, the shell may be cut into sections and moved out in smaller loads. Surrounding paving and retaining structures can add labour.

Water and ground conditions

A drained fibreglass shell can be affected by groundwater and soil pressure. The contractor should control the sequence and avoid leaving an unstable empty shell unattended.

Preparing the former pool area

The excavation may have bedding material, plumbing trenches and disturbed surrounding soil. These need to be considered when filling and setting final levels.

  • What removal method is included and what will remain below ground?
  • Which approvals, licences, inspections or specialist reports apply?
  • How will waste, fill, drainage and compaction be handled?
  • What access assumptions and exclusions are built into the price?
