The pool may occupy the natural low point
Many yards were shaped to drain toward the pool surrounds. Removing the pool without redesigning levels can create ponding or direct water toward the house.
Partial shells can trap water
Any retained structure needs a deliberate drainage solution. Openings, aggregate and surrounding soil conditions should be assessed as part of the decommissioning method.
Connect systems lawfully
New pits, pipes, pumps or stormwater connections may need licensed plumbing and council compliant discharge. Do not direct runoff onto neighbours.
Landscape with water in mind
Lawns, gardens and paving each shed or absorb water differently. The final design should preserve falls and provide a safe overflow path during heavy rain.
